SCREENING PROGRAMME:

Fisticuffs

Miranda Pennell : 2004 BetaSP 11mins

A bloke walks into a pub….Six actors punch, kick and wrestle their way through the Wild West of an East End drinking establishment.

Eden

Simon Aeppli : 2004 DigiBeta 15mins

This portrait of Simon Aeppli's hometown forms the basis of a video that explores a run down half forgotten place. Focusing on Eden's residents, the work reveals a place filled with eccentricity, humour and beauty.

Adrift

Inger Lise Hansen : 2001 35mm 9mins

A short film that combines time-lapse photography with stop-motion animation of the landscape. The work was filmed on the arctic island of Spitzbergen and in Trondheim, Norway.

Episodes in the life of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Paul Bush : 2001 35mm 5mins 15secs

Imagine that the camera is possessed with a psychosis similar to human schizophrenia; suppose that this disease subtly changes every single frame of film while leaving the narrative superficially intact. Prize winner at Siena, Montecatini and Holland Animation Festival.

Perpetual Motion in the Land of Milk and Honey

AL & AL : 2004 digiBeta 6mins 22secs

AL+AL's Grandfather is a retired engineer who has been trying to create perpetual motion and supply free power to the people. During a telephone call with the Lamb of God, Britney Spears sabotages this lifelong endeavor to break the laws of physics and sets in motion her own drive for infinity. The conflict produces a series of alchemical events which have only one consequence. A land flowing with Milk and Honey.

Medicine Box

David Leister : 2004 BetaSP 11mins

Resembling a lost instructional film, 'Medicine Box' draws attention to the repeated cycle of medical ingestion and how a small pill can have such a large effect on the human body.

Continental Drift

William Raban : 2005 35mm 15mins 6secs

A land and sea-scape film drawn from the rich sources of imagery: the constantly changing mood of the sea; to the distinctly different shorelines of Kent and the Pas de Calais - 21 miles of water that defines both the 'island race' and hostility towards a wider integration within Europe.

Exposure

Peter Collis : 2003 35mm 5mins 35secs

Exposed to the elements on an isolated stretch of beach, an assembly of material fragments fizz with marks, crackle, flake, warp and decay over time. Amongst others, the selection of work will include:
