Talks arranged by Film London Basic Rules: This seminar will use case studies and guest speakers to highlight intellectual property rights and clearance issues that effect artists working in the moving image. There will be a particular focus on the issues surrounding use of sound and appropriated material in work to be screened in public contexts. The session will include a general introduction to intellectual property issues and clearances, case studies and real life examples from producers and artists, information handouts and an opportunity for questions. Speakers will include Maggie Ellis, Film London Production Executive, an artists' film producer, and artist filmmaker. Prenelle Gallery : Sat 19th March. 2pm - 3:30pm Prenelle Gallery : Wed 16th March. 2pm -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Showing your Work: The seminar will talk through the options available to artists working in the moving image for distributing their work and will give advice on how to maximise these opportunities. Speakers will include people with experience in distributing artists' work to cinemas, in festival distribution and in presenting moving image work in a gallery context. Maggie Ellis, Film London Production Executive and guest speakers will be present to answer your questions.
